These youth receive various donations but are mainly supported by WSU cooperative extension office in Davenport and sponsored as a 4-H outreach program. Weekly activities are organized in the summer as well as an occasional activity during the school year. Contact JoAnn Eagle 639-2336 or Debbie Burke 639-2601 for further information.

Almira Country Fair
These volunteers organize the annual main street parade, craft show, games, and other old fashioned activities around the community. The event is held on the last Saturday in September. Contact Teri Hughes 639-2237 to participate in the parade, reserve a table, and for general information.
Playground Partnership 1999
A collaborative effort of Parents, Childcare Operators, and the Almira Lions Club to improve the Almira Lions Club Park Playground. The main fund raiser was a Ho-Down Dinner event with additional donations from the Almira Centennial Committee and Christmas on the Hill. Construction began in the fall of 1999 and was completed for the grand opening "Ice Cream Social on June 4, 2000. The new lay out consist of new swings, slides, dome climber, teeter-totter, merry-go-round, and hoppy animals. Another added feature near the playground area is a family barbecue grill.

Plenty of experienced people are available to help any interested beginners, meeting weekly on Wednesday at 5pm. This group holds an annual safety class, at least 6 annual shooting events, and organizes participation in the events of surrounding clubs in Eastern Washington and Idaho. Lifetime members receive shoot discounts, but membership is not required to shoot.
A sporting clays course located 7 miles south of Almira. Open to public by appointment only. 509-639-0168
